This year we were spending Christmas in Eagle Valley with my parents but we were able to go down to Vegas a few days before to have Christmas with the Thorley side of the family. It was lots of fun and it was fun for Lucas to see his cousins Alysson and Carson. Thanks to Aunt Tina for the pictures because I was woefully unprepared.

Now some of you may notice that Lucas isn't looking particularly...umm...peppy in these pictures. Well he had a vaccine the day before and ended up having a horrible reaction to it. The pictures above are when his is still feeling pretty good. He spent Christmas day with a 102 degree fever and this lovely rash.
It actually got quite a bit worse the next day but I didn't take any pictures. Luckily Aunt Teah was prepared with the Benadryl and Uncle Scott who is a doctor was there for medical advice. I don't know what I would do without all these medical professionals in my family. Thanks Teah and Scott!!!
Now onto the fun Christmas pictures. It was great for Lucas to be able to see Drew and Dylan. Lucas and Drew are going to be a force when they are old enough to work as a team.
We also have a lot of fun pictures of Lucas in the snow which I will post in a couple of days. This is already a terrifically long post. All in all not the ideal 1st Christmas I was shooting for with Lucas (what with being sick and all) but good one all the same.

The best 1ST Christmas is when they are a little older and really understand it all and tear into things. You have so many great Christmass to come. Sorry he was not feeling good, that kind of kills it for you too! That rash is horrible. Neither of my kids have ever had a reaction to a vacc. before.
I bet your parents spoiled Lucas rotten though. Must have been a fun Christmas up there!
Lucas did so good at Christmas even with his rash. He was a trooper. Thank goodness for the Benadryl though. It was so fun to have everyone home.
Lucas is so cute -- even with that rash. I'm glad you had so much fun. Did you have to dig yourself out of the snow out there?
Is it just a lighting effect, or does Lucas have red hair?? It's been a while since I've seen him, you know...
Sorry your little guy was sick! Yuck! Next year will be even better! This year Kyle is 2 and it was so fun!
Poor Lucas! Thats so sad that he was sick his first Christmas! I'm glad he's feeling better now though. Other than that, it looks like you guys had a great Christmas with lots of family on both sides!

Awww Im so sorry he was sick for Christmas! Shots are never fun! Do they know which one he had the reaction to? He is so adorable, love the pic with the bow on his head!
