Lake Tahoe

Since we have moved up here we have been able to go to the beach a few times and it is great...but Lake Tahoe is not like every other lake. While Lake Mead is about the temperature of a hot tub by July, Tahoe pretty much always feels like ice water, so I thought I would post a few pictures to show the difference between Lake Tahoe and your average lake.

Beautiful right? Very picturesque.

It even has a beautiful view when you aren't looking out at the water.

See Lucas loves it...but....

After a dip in the water however, this is how he spends the rest of his day. Safely ensconced on someones lap...in this case Grandma Janice's.

And here is crazy Wayne up to his waist in freezing water...notice the snow on the mountains in the background. I don't think I have ever been more than knee deep in the water because I was pretty sure I would die of hypothermia if I went any farther.:)

Summer fun...and other random stuff

We have been able to do a lot of fun things over the summer so I thought I would put up some pictures of our different adventures.

We were able to go to Wayne's family reunion which was a lot of fun. It was nice to see the family even if there were a few to many BYU fans there for my taste. :)

This is us at the point. I thought we were going to die on the way up but we made it.

This is Lucas riding in the wagon at the cabin. He loved being with all the people and spending so much time outside. This is also a good example of his cautious nature...notice his death grip on the sides. He would never be the child that tries to stand up in the wagon.

We were able to go and visit my parents and for some reason their bath tub scared him to death...this is him NOT wanting to take a bath. (I would also like to point out my parents new carpet, any of you who saw it before know that it is a marked improvement.)

This is Lucas enjoying his first Otterpop. Of course there was sticky red juice and chucks of ice all over my floor...but hey a kids got to do what a kids got to do. :)

This is Lucas at the park. He loves to swing and giggles and claps the whole time.

This is the 4th of July. They set off the fireworks at the high school here in Carson City, which happens to be right next door to our church. Needless to say we had great seats and Lucas wasn't scared at all, if anything he was bored.:)

This is Lucas getting his first haircut. Alright, that might be overstating. I just trimmed around his ears and on the back so that it was even. He did good, but I was a nervous wreck. :)
