Lucas' First Birthday

Well we had Lucas' first birthday and first birthday party and it was great. His birthday was on a Friday so we had the party on Saturday. On Friday we did let him eat a slice of cake, and open one present. Funny story about the cake both on Friday and Saturday...he HATED it!!! He ate about 2 bites of each before he figured out what it was and refused to eat it. With the chocolate cake he even cried when we tried to feed it to him. I should have put the candle in a bowl of peas...those he loves.

This is about as close as he would get to the cake without help...but he didn't get to much messier than that.
On Saturday he even hugged his milk to his chest as if that would save him from having to eat the horrible cake!

We mushed the cake all up so it would look like he ate more...but he didn't. I can't complain about a kid that would rather eat fruits and vegetables than cake. :)

I made Lucas a cookie cake which is a tradition in Wayne's family. I was a little nervous to make it because Janice's always look so good, but she said mine looked good so I was pretty proud.

Yes...we love our alma mater so much we made our one year old's birthday cake as the mascot...don't judge!!!:)

We had a little party with some friends on Saturday. It was a lot of fun and there were lots of kids there to help Lucas rip open the presents. He still wasn't big into ripping the paper. Thanks to everyone that came to celebrate with us. All in all a pretty good first birthday.

Lucas is One!!!

Today is Lucas' first birthday and to celebrate the day I thought I would create a slideshow all about his first year. Enjoy!!

Lucas and Matilda

We went up to Reno to spend the day with Shelley and Matilda. The kids played at the house for a little bit and then we spent some time at the park. It was a beautiful day, which is rare up here. (To all of you that like Northern Nevada...seriously...why?:)) Thanks to Shelley and Matilda for a fun day! :)

Lucas' Favorite Things...and One Year Pictures

Right now Lucas has 2 favorite things and they are both a little odd. This is the first.....

Looking out the sliding glass window. He will stand there forever just staring out the window. I would also like to point out how dark it is outside. For those of you that have children that actually sleep in past 6 (unlike Lucas) thank your lucky stars! Here is the second of Lucas' favorite things....

Yes, that is an empty Christmas silly putty egg. He loves it. He carries it everywhere. He will dig through all the other toys to find it. Who knew that entertaining your child only took 99 cents.

I also wanted to include on this post Lucas one year pictures. He was actually in a pretty good mood for these ones.

The Grandparents

In the last 2 weeks we were able to have my parents and Wayne's mom and sister come and visit. It was so nice to see some familiar faces. Unfortunately Lucas was really sick almost the entire time Janice and Tina were here, so I don't have any pictures. I do have some great pictures from when my parents were here that I thought I would share.
