Well we had Lucas' first birthday and first birthday party and it was great. His birthday was on a Friday so we had the party on Saturday. On Friday we did let him eat a slice of cake, and open one present. Funny story about the cake both on Friday and Saturday...he HATED it!!! He ate about 2 bites of each before he figured out what it was and refused to eat it. With the chocolate cake he even cried when we tried to feed it to him. I should have put the candle in a bowl of peas...those he loves.
This is about as close as he would get to the cake without help...but he didn't get to much messier than that.
On Saturday he even hugged his milk to his chest as if that would save him from having to eat the horrible cake!
We mushed the cake all up so it would look like he ate more...but he didn't. I can't complain about a kid that would rather eat fruits and vegetables than cake. :)
I made Lucas a cookie cake which is a tradition in Wayne's family. I was a little nervous to make it because Janice's always look so good, but she said mine looked good so I was pretty proud.
Yes...we love our alma mater so much we made our one year old's birthday cake as the mascot...don't judge!!!:)
We had a little party with some friends on Saturday. It was a lot of fun and there were lots of kids there to help Lucas rip open the presents. He still wasn't big into ripping the paper. Thanks to everyone that came to celebrate with us. All in all a pretty good first birthday.

Lucus must be related to kyle, he doesnt like cake either although he wont eat his fruits and veggies he would rather have a frozen pizza and some fruit snacks. happy b-day lucas!
Haha, Sadie wouldn't eat any cake her first birthday either. My aunt tried to help her and smashed her hand in it and Sadie freaked out and was crying forever, like it was the worst thing ever! How funny :)
I think you're cookie cake looks awesome! I never would have guessed you made it- it looks as good as any I've seen in stores!
I LOVE the UNLV cookie cake! It's all about the REBELS! lol! We're the same way with Sadie, she has a UNLV outfit that we just thought was the greatest thing ever (we bought it before she was even born! lol!) You did a fantastic job on the cookie, I would have thought you bought it! Happy birthday Lucas!

That is so funny about the cake. Sadly, Drew already loves cake. :) We wish we could have been there to celebrate. Give him a love for us.
