WARNING!!!!

If any of you do not like blood and gore or feet in general you may want to avoid this post!!! Seriously...I find it a little gross and its my foot.

So some of you know that I have been having a lot of trouble with my left big toe. It has been swollen and sore and really painful.

Example of a normal looking toe (for me). Not the cutest after all it is a toe, but fairly average.

Now here is the sore toe...red and swollen just like I said.
Here they are next to each other...now you can really see how swollen it was. It got to the point that it was painful just to walk.

So I finally went to the doctor. He said it was probably an infected ingrown toenail. Now I personally didn't know you could get ingrown toenails on the bottom but you can. So he put me on some antibiotics and scheduled me to come back in about a week and a half to see how it was.
Well needless to say the antibiotics did nothing but make my toe pus even more (hey, if you don't like it you should have heeded the warning), so when I went back in the decided to take my toenail off. The numb your toe up and then literally shove the tool down your nail bed and rip your toenail off. (By the way the doctor said my toenail was broken at the bottom and not even connected so I would have lost my toenail eventually anyway.)

Here she is all bandaged up after the removal. The numbing agent lasted about 12 hours so I didn't feel to much pain at first.
WARNING!!! Seriously last warning...this is where the blood and gore comes in.

TaDa! This is what it looked like when the bandage came off. Pretty nasty huh? Oh and it hurt although I am not sure it hurt any worse than before. Maybe it is just more an odd feeling because all this skin that isn't used to being exposed is open to the world.

Let me assure you....it looks way better now but these were the money shots.:) Anyway, it is slowly getting better and looking better. Hope I didn't gross anyone out to much and if I did...next time heed the warning!!!!:)

Ow! I lost my big toenail in high school--a girl tried to steal a rebound from me and landed on my big toe instead. But mine didn't have to get ripped off, thankfully. It just got a blood blister under it, and then it just fell off. It was sore, but that looks like it was more than just sore. I hope your new toenail grows in soon :)

Remember how I said I prefered your blog posts to Wayne's long esays? Well. I take that back. I'll take Wayne's prolificating any day to a nasty toe.

Hope you feel better soon.

Just paint it like your other toe nails and nobody will ever notice.

In high school both of my big toenails fell off because some fatty jumped on both toes during a basketball game. (odd, I know) So, prom came and I had no toenails so I just painted them and you couldn't even tell. The growing out process is the weirdest part.
